Laura Jacqueline Gonzalez Carlos is a third-generation Chicana born in Montebello, California, on the unceded land of the Tongva, Kizh, and Chumash peoples. Her cultural heritage and upbringing in Los Angeles County and Mexico City are deeply interwoven with the resilient spirit, values, and traditions of her ancestors, who navigated both the challenges and richness of the Mexican-American experience.
As a bilingual psychotherapist and psychoeducator, her practice is grounded in cultural humility, social justice, and intergenerational healing, honoring the strength and wisdom of her heritage. She recognizes the importance of identity, belonging, and storytelling in the therapeutic process, drawing from both evidence-based practices and ancestral knowledge to support healing and empowerment.

Laura’s academic educational path is comprised of a Master of Arts degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications from Cal Poly Pomona, and an Associate of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Citrus College. Her professional educational journey has led to the completion of certificates in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Core Transformation Therapy, and Rapid Integrative Gestalt from Beurin University.
